Cheryl Powers
Cheryl has been an integral part of this mealworm operation since its founding in 2018, collaborating closely with customers, driving customer development, and overseeing all aspects of the business. Agriculture runs deep in her veins—she grew up on her family farm in northeast Nebraska, tending livestock and embracing the rhythms of farm life.
After a successful career as an educator and college recruiter, Cheryl returned to her agricultural roots, channeling her passion into raising mealworms. Over the years, she’s fed and sold millions of these “mini livestock” and proudly jokes that they’re “the other, other white meat!”
As a small business owner, Cheryl has worn many hats, navigating challenges, persevering through tough times, and celebrating every milestone. She’s proud of how far Kirkos Ag has come and looks forward to the company’s continued growth and success.

Drew Gentry
Drew joined Kirkos Ag with a wealth of experience from the corporate world, bringing lean certification expertise that has proven invaluable to the company’s growth. His diverse professional background, strong organizational skills, and unwavering work ethic have been instrumental in driving Kirkos forward. A former top-tier college athlete, Drew’s competitive spirit and high expectations inspire both himself and those around him.
As the overseer of day-to-day farm operations, Drew manages inventory for worms, beetles, and pupae while ensuring the timely procurement of essential supplies, like feed. He leads a talented team, assigning tasks to maximize efficiency and ensure that every customer’s needs are met on a weekly basis.
With Drew’s and Cheryl’s leadership paired with the dedication of our support staff, Kirkos Ag proudly raises healthy, high-quality mealworms to serve customers across the United States.
